**Henry County, VA** - A man was arrested following a dramatic high-speed chase on Friday, August 16, as the Henry County Sheriff’s Office attempted to conduct a traffic stop on a white Chrysler 300 on Summit Road.
The suspect refused to pull over, initiating a pursuit that reached speeds of up to 100 mph. The chase came to a halt when the driver lost control of the vehicle on Carver Road, crashing into a guardrail and concrete pillar, ultimately ending up in a ditch.
Despite commands from deputies to exit the vehicle, the suspect attempted to flee again. Assistance from the Henry County Patrol/Narcotics K9 unit was called in to help apprehend him.
During the incident, law enforcement seized several items, including an undisclosed amount of cocaine, marijuana, cash, and a cellphone, all of which are believed to be linked to narcotics distribution. The suspected drugs will be sent to the Virginia Department of Forensic Science for further analysis.
