The Danville Police Department has arrested a 37-year-old woman and her 18-year-old son following a disturbing investigation into animal abuse. Tomara Tanya Twigg, a resident of Danville, now faces 10 counts of failing to provide rabies vaccinations and four counts of animal neglect. Her son, Kenneth Tate, is charged with 36 counts of animal neglect and one count of animal cruelty.
The investigation began on the evening of August 15, when Animal Control Officers responded to reports of animal abuse at the Danville Pet Resort, located on Ash Street. During the investigation, officers seized a dozen dogs that were found in poor condition, with some requiring immediate veterinary care. The Danville Area Humane Society assisted with the transport and seizure of the animals.
Authorities have stated that the investigation is ongoing. They are urging anyone with information related to this case to contact the Danville Police Department.
