A crowd estimated at more than 200 gathered in Jack A. Loftis Plaza on Main Street Mount Airy for the dedication of the 18 foot wall painting celebrating the award winning gospel trio, The Easter Brothers. The gathering included the last surviving member – 89 year James Easter who sung at the event.
Although the group calls Mount Airy home, the award winning gospel group has roots in Henry County, VA and beyond. “It honors them for their music and what they have done for the community,” said a former Mount Airy Mayor and radio personality, Deborah Cochran, who spoke at Saturdays event.
