Danville sets free HR workshop for small businesses Sept. 13

Danville businesses can register for a free half-day Human Resources Basics workshop scheduled for Sunday, Sept. 13, at Dan River Falls.

The city says the session is designed for businesses located within Danville and will cover practical tools for hiring, employee documentation, wage-and-hour compliance, workplace policies and the difference between legal and illegal interview questions.

The workshop runs from 2 to 5 p.m. at Dan River Falls, 420 Memorial Drive. It is presented with the Southside Virginia Society for Human Resource Management and led by Crystal Stauffer, SHRM-CP.

Attendance is free, but registration is required and space is limited. The city describes the workshop as a resource for small-business owners who want to strengthen workplace practices and reduce legal risk.
