Danville police-community cancer walk set for Oct. 3

DANVILLE — The Danville Police Department is planning a community walk to support people affected by cancer on Saturday, Oct. 3, 2026.

The city calendar lists DPD Stronger Together: One Step at a Time Cancer Walk as an 8 a.m. event. The department’s official information says the walk will end at the JTI Fountain; the listing does not publish a full route in the available event summary.

Police describe the walk as a way to show support for people who are fighting or have fought any form of cancer. The first 40 people to register will receive a free T-shirt, according to the department’s event information.
