Danville regional housing summit set for Oct. 8

Danville will host the fifth annual Southern Virginia Regional Housing Summit on Thursday, Oct. 8, bringing housing and economic-development stakeholders together for a full day focused on residential opportunities across the region.

The City of Danville says the summit runs from 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. at the Institute for Advanced Learning and Research Conference Center, 150 Slayton Ave., Danville. Participating localities include Danville and Martinsville, along with Halifax, Henry, Mecklenburg, Patrick and Pittsylvania counties.

The program is scheduled to include a keynote from Chris Garland of the National Community Stabilization Trust on revitalizing middle neighborhoods, presentations from the Virginia Department of Housing and Community Development and Virginia Housing, a project panel and an exhibit hall with regional resources and available development sites.
