Danville library lists all-levels Checkmate chess club for Oct. 15

Checkmate Danville, a youth-led drop-in chess club open to players of all levels, is scheduled for Thursday, Oct. 15, 2026, from 5:15 to 6:45 p.m. at the Danville Public Library.

The city calendar lists the meeting on the library's first floor at 511 Patton St., Danville, Virginia, 24541. The program is for ages 8 and up, and the listing says no registration is required.

The event description says no prior chess experience is necessary and that boards and sets are limited. Participants may bring their own equipment if they want to do so; the library listing does not promise a particular number of tables or sets.
