Greensboro water-line rehabilitation starts lane closures through summer

Greensboro announced in a City News update posted March 13, 2026 that lane closures and delays would begin March 16 on several corridors as part of ongoing water-line rehabilitation work.

The city said daytime impacts are scheduled on North Elam Avenue, Oakland Avenue, Gatewood Avenue, Immanuel Street, and Cypress Street, with work windows extending into June and July depending on segment.

For Greensboro and Triad commuters, the practical takeaway is sustained daytime disruption on neighborhood connectors, not a one-day closure event, which makes weekly route checks important.

The city noted the project is part of its utility-funded water rehabilitation program and directed drivers to closure notices and alternate-route planning resources.
