A dog that went missing in Oklahoma was reunited with his family after turning up at a Guilford County animal shelter, thanks to his microchip.
Staff at the Guilford County Animal Shelter say Rio, a 10-year-old border collie, was brought in as a stray in Greensboro. When they scanned his microchip, it led them all the way to his owner in Oklahoma, who said he had been missing since late July. She caught the first flight she could to Greensboro to bring him home.
Shelter staff say the reunion is a reminder of why microchipping pets matters.
