A high-speed chase that crossed state lines ended Wednesday afternoon in Spartanburg County, South Carolina.
According to the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department, around 3:30 p.m. officers patrolling in the 3000 block of N. Graham St. in Charlotte witnessed a violent crime in progress, and one suspect fled in a truck at high speed. The chase continued onto Interstate 85 in North Carolina and across the state line into South Carolina, with a CMPD helicopter following from above. It ended on Fort Prince Blvd. when the driver, Zyvarius Webber, crashed and was taken into custody following a brief foot chase. He was taken to the hospital as a precaution and will be booked into the Spartanburg County Detention Center on charges of failure to stop for blue lights and fugitive from justice.
Charlotte-Mecklenburg police say Webber will face numerous additional charges once he is returned to North Carolina.
