A Roanoke County spokesperson confirms the county has signed a non-disclosure agreement regarding a recent land sale at Wood Haven Technology Park, legally barring officials from revealing what could be coming to the site.
The NDA prevents the county from disclosing the prospective use of the property, according to the spokesperson. The statement follows a vote last week by the Western Virginia Regional Industrial Facility Authority to sell park property to Clearview Dynamics LLC, an entity formed in January. The lack of transparency has frustrated neighbors living directly across the street, with resident Phyllis Jeter saying it does not feel fair and that decisions seem to be made without community input. The chief concern among neighbors is that the site could become a data center facility.
Residents say they do not want the congestion, noise and traffic such a facility could bring to the neighborhood.
