— Emergency crews responded to a single-vehicle crash on North Bridge Street after a vehicle ended up hanging over an approximately 8-foot retaining wall.

According to the Bedford Fire Department, units were dispatched to the 400 block of North Bridge Street for a motor vehicle crash with reported injuries.

Engine 1, carrying three personnel, arrived first and found the vehicle hanging over the retaining wall. The driver had already managed to get out of the vehicle before emergency crews arrived.

The driver was transported by Medic 14-1 to Carilion Roanoke Memorial Hospital with injuries described as non-life-threatening.

Engine 1 and Rescue 1, which responded with four personnel, assisted at the scene.

The scene was turned over to the Town of Bedford Police Department, which is investigating the crash. No additional information about the cause of the crash has been released.
