Starting out quiet today but ending up stormy by early afternoon through the evening hours, lingering through 9 p.m. tonight. Highs top out around 90 for Southside but only around 80 in the higher mountains.
A back door front moving in from the NE is responsible for the unsettled forecast. We need every drop of rain we can get east of the Blue Ridge.
The front washes out over us Saturday, with moisture from the gulf FINALLY opening up this today through Saturday night. As a result I expect numerous showers and storms Saturday on/off all day.
Drier air works in from the NW on 10-15 mph breezes Sunday. After falling into the upper 70's to lower 80's Saturday, we will warm back up through the mid to upper 80's Sunday and be around 90 again Monday.
A few clouds mixed with sun Monday as a dry but pronounced front again from the NE moves in.... this time making it further south of the area. That means a dry cool air wedge for Tuesday with much lower temps and what should be pleasant low humidity.
Temps and humidity levels moderate into the middle part of next week.
