One of the two people injured in a house fire in High Point has died.

According to the High Point Fire Department, despite lifesaving efforts, one of the two victims of the Tipton Street fire was later pronounced deceased by medical personnel. The other victim remains in the hospital and is considered stable. The fire, which happened in the early hours of Wednesday morning, has been ruled accidental. Firefighters spotted heavy fire from the back of the home and made entry, finding the two victims inside, who were taken to the hospital.

The department's investigation into the blaze continues.
