The Town of Lewisville says one of its brand-new playgrounds has been vandalized within a week of its opening.
The town cut the ribbon to open the new playground at Shallowford Square on Sept. 10, after beginning construction in June. On Thursday, the town announced the new playground had been damaged and vandalized. According to the Forsyth County Sheriff's Office, the incidents of vandalism and damage were very minimal and nothing permanent. The town has asked deputies to pay special attention to the area and increase patrols.
Lewisville called for the community to keep the playground safe and clean, and asked anyone who sees vandalism to contact the Forsyth County Sheriff's Office or the Lewisville Public Works Department.
