Three people are facing animal cruelty charges after a dog was found dead inside a truck in Lexington, according to the Davidson County Sheriff's Office.
On Sunday, animal control deputies arrived at a home in the 300 block of Jefferson Drive. A black and white dog was found dead inside the truck with one window partially open. The exact cause of the dog's death is unknown at this time, but deputies determined the dog was in the truck for at least three hours.
Mel Burham, Haile Tollie and Michael Walser were charged with felony animal cruelty as well as misdemeanor instigating animal cruelty. All are presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty in court.
