— Vice President JD Vance was delivering his primetime address to thousands of Republican voters Thursday night when a protester decided the convention floor was the perfect place to make a statement.
The heckler reportedly waved Mexican and Palestinian flags while shouting at Vance from the crowd, grabbing the vice president’s attention during his keynote speech.
The protest wasn't shown on the convention's official television feed, but Vance wasn't about to let the moment disappear without commenting on it.
Vance told viewers watching at home that a protester had interrupted the speech while waving a Mexican flag.
Then came Vance's response.
“Well, my friend, if you love Mexico so much, get your a– over there. I’ll buy you the plane ticket.”
And just like that, the speech got a little more interesting.
The exchange quickly became one of the more colorful moments of Vance's address, as the vice president returned his attention to the convention and continued his remarks.
Apparently, the convention had a message, the protester had a flag — and JD Vance had a credit card ready for airfare.
