On September 12, 2026, deputies with the Wythe County Sheriff's Office conducted a traffic stop on a 2020 Nissan Altima for a traffic violation.
The vehicle was being operated by Robert Walter Bridgeman, with Marc Devin Pauley as a passenger. Pauley was a wanted fugitive from Smyth County. During the investigation, K9 Deputy Karma alerted on the vehicle for the presence of narcotics.
A search of the vehicle resulted in the seizure of the following:
$3,418 in U.S. currency 67.8 grams of methamphetamine 100 pressed fentanyl pills 83 grams of fentanyl powder LSD Cocaine
Both Bridgeman and Pauley were arrested and transported to the New River Valley Regional Jail on narcotics-related violations. Their car was seized by the agency.
