BASSETT — A free presentation on the early history of Bassett will give residents a closer look at how the Henry County community grew from rural beginnings into a major furniture-manufacturing center.
Building a Town: The Early Years of Bassett is scheduled for 10:30 a.m. to noon Tuesday, Oct. 13, 2026, in the Susan L. Adkins Room at the Bassett Historical Center, 3964 Fairystone Park Highway.
Martinsville Tourism says presenter Andy Doss will use historic photographs, maps and local stories to discuss the people, industries and events that shaped Bassett. The program is open to the public at no charge.
