9:36 p.m. THU - 10/8/26 - …SUNDAY THE MAIN DAY TO WATCH for VIRGINIA… …WARM MUGGY AIR SLAMS INTO COOL BUT HEAVY RAIN, TWISTING STORMS FAVORED ON THE FRONT, EXACT POSITION OF BOUNDARY TO MAKE THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN RAIN AND INTENSE WIND, ROTATION, TORNADOES …
Isaias will start out more like a WINTER-LIKE system for us Saturday into early Sunday as cool 🥶 air sets into a pronounced wedge, enhanced by the dry air over us now.
However, very humid tropical air is going to launch 🚀 northward through the Carolina’s and perhaps into the SE parts of the area.
Where the warm air meets the cool wedge is where rotation is most likely Sunday afternoon and evening. 🌪️
More on where I expect the main IMPACTS to be. Here’s a hint: it’s nowhere close to the eventual NHC track!

I do my best to keep my weather forecasts free and they will remain that way on my social media in a generalized nature.
But forecasts are only as good as the data that's used to make them, which costs lots of money each month.
At other TV stations and forecast outlets, it's no big deal, since the company picks up the tab.
But I forecast independently. I prefer to go my own way in forecasting and work for myself. This means I pay all of the radar, weather alerts, and model data bills out of my own pocket.
Patreon is simply a way to help offset my costs by giving you more detailed information that I don't post publicly.
The main basic tier is only $1/month - that's as cheap as the platform will let me price it.
You'll get model updates and high res maps...basically a "behind the scenes" of my forecast process ahead of impending weather events.
I truly appreciate the follows on social media and the support online!
Stay weather-aware!
