A dog was rescued from a house fire Sunday, Oct. 11, according to the Bedford Fire Department.
Firefighters say they responded at 11:17 a.m. to reports of a residential structure fire in the 500 block of Westview Ave., where smoke was coming from a single-story wood frame private home. A large, unconscious dog was found, removed and handed over to EMS, and firefighters say the dog was revived on scene and transported to a nearby emergency veterinarian for further evaluation.
The scene was turned over to the Bedford County Fire Marshal's Office for investigation.
