More than 30,000 Toyota vehicles have been recalled due to a software issue that could cause the car to shut down.
The recall affects the 2026 Toyota RAV4 plug-in hybrid.
The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration said the software issue could cause the hybrid system to reduce power or even shut down when the vehicle is driven at higher speeds, which could increase the risk of a crash. Toyota dealers will update the software for free, and owners will be notified by early December.
