ARARAT, Va. — Motorists are urged to use caution after flooding was reported on Rabbit Ridge Road in the Ararat community. Heavy rainfall has caused water to cover portions of the roadway, creating hazardous driving conditions. Drivers should slow down, avoid standing water whenever possible, and never attempt to drive through flooded roadways if the depth is unknown. Residents in low-lying areas are encouraged to remain alert for rising water and monitor changing weather conditions. If you encounter flooded roads, remember the safety message: "Turn Around, Don't Drown." Just a small amount of moving water can sweep a vehicle off the roadway. Star News will continue to monitor conditions and provide updates if additional road closures or flooding reports are received. If you have photos or videos from the area, you can share them with Star News to help keep the community informed.
