MOUNT AIRY — A lantern-lit walking tour will take visitors through downtown Mount Airy on Friday, Aug. 21, as the Historic Downtown Mount Airy Ghost Tours return for another summer evening.
The 90-minute tour is scheduled for 8 to 9:30 p.m. and begins at the Mount Airy Museum of Regional History, 301 N. Main St. The Visit Mayberry listing says the Friday and Saturday tours run from May through November and focus on local history, old downtown streets and stories connected to the city’s past.
Tickets are listed at $20, including tax, and advance paid reservations are required. The museum advises guests to wear comfortable shoes and bring a camera; an umbrella may also be useful depending on the forecast. Reservations and questions can be handled through the museum at 336-786-4478.
The event gives residents and visitors a structured way to explore downtown after dark while supporting the Mount Airy Museum of Regional History. People planning to attend should confirm availability and any weather-related changes before traveling.
