The City of Reidsville says its routine preventive water-quality maintenance cycle is ending, with the disinfectant transition from chlorine back to chloramines beginning April 5, 2026.
In the city's update, officials state the distribution-system flushing period runs during the week of April 6-10, 2026, and residents may temporarily notice taste, odor, pressure, or discoloration changes.
The notice says both treatment approaches remain safe for normal household use, and advises customers who see discoloration to run cold water for several minutes before laundry or other sensitive uses.
Because this window affects both Reidsville and connected Triad systems, the item remains a same-week service advisory for households and businesses across the corridor.
