Local Colors Hispanic Heritage celebration set Oct. 3 in Roanoke

ROANOKE — A free celebration of Hispanic heritage, music and community life is scheduled for noon to 4 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 3, 2026, in downtown Roanoke.

The City of Roanoke calendar lists the Local Colors Hispanic Heritage Month Celebration at John Nolen Plaza, 26 Salem Street SE, with activity also planned for Market Street SE between Salem Avenue and Norfolk Avenue.

The four-hour event is described as family-friendly and will include dance and live-music performances, educational segments, storytelling and other cultural programming. Vendor booths are expected to offer Latin American food, artisan crafts, services and information from Latino-owned businesses and community organizations.

For residents, the event creates a single downtown stop for entertainment, cultural learning and local-resource connections. People planning to attend should allow time for pedestrian activity around the plaza and check the city calendar for any day-of updates to the event footprint.
