Downtown Roanoke paving and towing restrictions begin Oct. 11

Downtown Roanoke is scheduled for overnight milling and paving beginning Sunday, Oct. 11, with work planned from 6 p.m. to 6 a.m. through mid-November, weather permitting.

The City of Roanoke says the project includes Salem Avenue between First and First-and-a-Half streets; Campbell Avenue between First and Fifth streets; Kirk Avenue between Second Street and Williamson Road; Church Avenue between Second and Fifth streets; and sections of First, Second and Third streets near the downtown grid.

Temporary no-parking notices will be posted in advance, and cars left in construction zones will be towed. The city says local access to homes and businesses will continue, while residents and visitors should expect overnight construction noise and use city garages or street parking outside the posted work area. Motorists, cyclists and pedestrians should allow more time and watch for changing conditions near crews and equipment.
