Roanoke's City Planning Commission is scheduled to hold a work session from noon to 1 p.m. Friday, Oct. 9, at the Noel C. Taylor Municipal Building, 215 Church Ave. SW.
The city's calendar lists the meeting in the Council Conference Room on the fourth floor. The commission's planning page identifies that room as Room 451 in the Municipal South portion of the building.
Residents following development proposals, zoning questions and long-range planning can attend the work session, but the city notes that it is a public meeting rather than a public hearing. Commissioners will not vote or take action during the work session.
The commission advises City Council on orderly development and reviews recommendations involving land-development regulations, rezonings, street and alley closures, and short- and long-range plans. The city says interpretation is available for public meetings upon request; residents should contact 540-853-1283 at least 24 hours ahead when possible.
