Roanoke library sets kids and teens costume swap for Oct. 14

ROANOKE — Families looking for Halloween costumes can visit Gainsboro Library Wednesday, Oct. 14, 2026, for the city library system’s Kids’ and Teen’s Costume Swap.

The Roanoke calendar lists the program as an all-day event in the Children’s Area at Gainsboro Library. The listing says laundered kids’ and teens’ costume donations may be brought to any Roanoke library branch, while costumes will be available to shop at Gainsboro.

The calendar describes the swap as no cost and says costumes will be available for the whole month of October. It does not promise a particular size, character or inventory, so families should expect availability to change as donations and selections move.

Readers should check the city calendar or contact the library system for any same-day schedule change before traveling. The artwork here is illustrative and does not show actual donated costumes.
