**BEDFORD COUNTY, Va.** – Jens Soering, convicted of the 1980s double murder of Nancy and Derek Haysom, may soon have his name cleared thanks to new DNA evidence. The Haysoms were the parents of Soering's then-girlfriend, Elizabeth Haysom.

The case has recently gained renewed attention following the Netflix docu-series *Till Murder Do Us Part: Soering vs. Haysom*. Soering has claimed that the series omitted critical evidence supporting his innocence, specifically new blood tests conducted at the crime scene.

In an interview with 10 News, Soering stated, “The main thing is that this blood, which at my trial was said to be mine, we now know with 100% certainty is not my blood. The samples are not mixed or contaminated, so we can trust the DNA test.”

Soering has submitted a new pardon petition to Virginia Governor Glenn Youngkin's office. Previously, he filed a petition with former Governor Ralph Northam in 2018, which resulted in his parole after 33 years in prison, but he was not granted a pardon.

Determined to clear his name, Soering is actively interviewing law enforcement officials and DNA experts to bolster his case.
