GALAX, VA – A person in Galax may face legal repercussions following an incident involving accidental self-inflicted gunshot wounds to the hand. The Galax Police Department responded to a call on Sunday afternoon at Galax High School, where the individual sustained injuries while attempting to store a firearm in their vehicle.
Authorities have not disclosed the individual’s identity, age, or gender. It was reported that the person was attending a non-school-related event on the premises at the time of the incident.
The Galax Police Department confirmed that the individual did not possess a valid concealed carry permit and was subsequently transported to a local hospital for medical treatment.
