*Blairs, VA — August 2, 2023* — The Pittsylvania County Sheriff’s Office is actively investigating a breaking and entering incident that occurred in the early hours of August 2 at the Exxon Gas Station, located at 5912 S Highway 29 in Blairs.
According to reports, the incident took place shortly after 4 a.m. when an unidentified suspect reportedly broke a window to gain access to the store. Once inside, the perpetrator stole an undisclosed amount of Newport brand cigarettes.
Witnesses described the suspect as having their face covered and wearing a dark-colored hat, a grey shirt, black or dark-colored pants, and knee pads. The suspect's attire suggests a level of premeditation, raising concerns within the community regarding safety and security.
The Pittsylvania County Sheriff’s Office is urging anyone who may have information related to this incident to come forward.
