The Danville Police Department is currently investigating a case of animal abuse at a pet business located in the 200 block of Ash Street. On the evening of Thursday, August 15, officers responded to a complaint regarding potential animal neglect at Danville Pet Resort.

During a subsequent investigation and search of the premises, authorities seized a dozen dogs that were found in poor physical condition, with several requiring immediate veterinary care. The Danville Area Humane Society assisted in the transport and care of the seized animals.

The investigation is ongoing, and as of now, no charges have been filed. The police are urging anyone with information related to this case to contact them at 911 or the patrol division at 434-799-6510, option 4.
