19-Year-Old Woman Killed in Henry County Crash; Driver Charged with Reckless Driving

HENRY COUNTY, Va. – A tragic vehicle accident claimed the life of a 19-year-old woman in Henry County on Friday, as confirmed by Virginia State Police.

Emergency responders arrived at the scene of a single-vehicle crash on Chatham Road near Lawrence Drive at approximately 3:43 p.m. Investigations revealed that the driver of a Chevrolet Malibu was traveling west when he veered off the right side of the road. In an attempt to regain control, the driver overcorrected, colliding with a guardrail before ultimately crashing into a tree.

The passenger, identified as Khyrra Michelle Martin from Ridgeway, was pronounced dead at the scene.

The driver, Jason S. Bethea, faces charges of reckless driving in connection with the incident.
