**HENRY COUNTY, VA** – A tragic accident on Tuesday night has resulted in the death of a 66-year-old man in Henry County, Virginia, as reported by Virginia State Police.
Authorities were alerted to a single-vehicle crash on Route 57 at approximately 10:53 p.m. The investigation revealed that Ray D. Smith, a resident of Axton, was driving a Land Rover eastbound when he veered off the right side of the road. The vehicle struck an embankment, overturned, and ejected Smith from the car.
Sadly, Smith, who was not wearing a seatbelt at the time of the crash, was pronounced dead at the scene. The incident is currently under investigation by Virginia State Police.
