**Woman Charged with Second-Degree Murder Following Fatal Shooting in Roanoke**

**ROANOKE, Va.** – A woman is now in custody after a tragic shooting incident that left one man dead early Sunday morning in Roanoke. The event unfolded around 1:14 a.m. when the Roanoke Police Department received a report of a domestic assault in progress at a residence located in the 1400 block of Guildhall Avenue NW.

As officers were en route to the scene, the situation escalated significantly. The initial call, which reported an ongoing domestic dispute, transitioned into a more serious emergency as the police were informed of a gunshot wound. Upon their arrival, officers discovered a man who had sustained injuries from the shooting. Unfortunately, despite the immediate response from emergency services, the man was pronounced dead at the scene.

Following the incident, the suspect fled the area; however, law enforcement was able to apprehend her shortly thereafter. The suspect has been identified as Elexus Allen. She faces serious charges, including second-degree murder, and is currently being held at the Roanoke City Adult Detention Center without bond.
