The Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office has released the name of a man killed in a single-vehicle crash Saturday night.
Saturday, August 3 at around 8 p.m., investigators say, 22-year-old Nathan Cole Jefcoat of Franklin County died at the scene of the crash on Riner Road near the intersection of Broad Shoals Road.
Deputies say Jefcoat was driving his Ford pickup north toward Christiansburg when he ran off the left side of the road and struck a tree.
Montgomery County first responders rapidly extricated the driver and attempted life saving measures, according to deputies.
Deputies say he was not wearing a seatbelt.
