UK-based WB Alloys is investing $6.6 million to expand operations and open a production facility in Danville, Virginia, creating 30 jobs. The facility will specialize in wire alloy production for the Navy and Department of Defense. This marks the company's first U.S. production facility, and is a significant milestone in their global growth strategy. The Virginia Economic Development Partnership worked with local and regional authorities to secure the project for Virginia, with Governor Glenn Youngkin approving an $80,000 grant from the Commonwealth’s Opportunity Fund to assist with the project. The company's initial operations will begin in a 10,000-square-foot facility, with plans to scale up to 50,000 square feet as they reach full production capacity.
