The Virginia Department of Health has issued a warning to residents in Roanoke County regarding potential exposure to a rabid kitten. Health officials confirmed the presence of rabies in the vicinity of Pheasant Run Circle.

Further investigation revealed that the kitten was also spotted in the Mount Pleasant area, specifically near Bandy Road and Ferguson Valley Road SE of South Roanoke County, around Saturday, July 20. Residents are urged to remain vigilant and report any suspicious animal behavior.
