Governor Youngkin Announces $5.4 Million in Grants for Virginia Communities


Governor Glenn Youngkin has announced $5.4 million in grant awards to support 30 local projects aimed at revitalizing historic commercial districts and expanding small businesses in Virginia.


Key outcomes of the funding include:


Creation or expansion of 19 businesses
Generation of 142 new jobs
Leverage of over $17.6 million in additional investments


Governor Youngkin expressed enthusiasm for the partnerships with local leaders, emphasizing the potential for job creation and community prosperity.


The grant distribution includes:


Over $4.5 million in Industrial Revitalization Funds for 8 projects
$570,000 in Virginia Main Street grants for 17 communities
$325,000 in Community Business Launch grants for 5 projects
