*Amherst County, VA* – Frederick Wiggington, charged with the murder of his wife, Elsie Wiggington, will remain in custody after a judge denied his bond today. The court's decision came amid concerns regarding the seriousness of the charges and Frederick's limited ties to the area, as he had been residing in Lexington.

Family members gathered in support of Elsie, expressing gratitude for the judge’s ruling. Victoria Seal, Elsie's half-sister, shared her mixed emotions, stating, "I’m happy that he is incarcerated... However, it is bitter because we are here under the circumstances with my sister." Similarly, Elsie’s sister, Mary Jordan, emphasized the importance of justice, saying, "I’m very very glad that he’s locked up and that he’s not able to just have freedom, because that’s not what he gave my sister."

James Knight, Elsie's brother, also expressed his anger at seeing Frederick but was relieved that bond was denied.

The investigation into Elsie’s disappearance took a grim turn when her remains were discovered under a concrete slab at her last known address on Pendleton Drive in Amherst. The Commonwealth Attorney confirmed that Elsie had been shot, and a firearm linked to the case is currently undergoing testing. Initially, Frederick had claimed that she had run away.

As the legal proceedings continue, the family remains hopeful for justice.
