*Henry County, VA – September 2, 2023* – A devastating accident on A.L. Philpott Highway near Summit Road resulted in the deaths of two individuals. The incident occurred at approximately 12:30 p.m. when a 2000 Chevrolet Silverado traveling east veered off the road, crossed the median, and collided with a parked semi-trailer.



The victims have been identified as 62-year-old Albert David Elliott and 57-year-old Melissa Sue Willard, both residents of Henry County. Authorities confirmed that both were wearing their seatbelts at the time of the crash.



The Virginia State Police are currently conducting an ongoing investigation into the circumstances surrounding the accident.
