Caesars Entertainment held a groundbreaking on August 11, 2022, on the former Dan River Mills finishing plant site.
The $650 million resort rose on the Schoolfield site where Dan River Mills' finishing plant had been demolished. The project was projected to create 1,300 operating jobs and 900 construction jobs. By mid-September crews had processed more than 270,000 tons of structural fill.
