The Danville newspaper reduced its printed edition to Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday and moved delivery to the mail.
On June 17, 2023, the Danville Register and Bee, owned by Lee Enterprises, cut its print schedule to three days a week. Home delivery by carrier gave way to delivery through the U.S. Postal Service. The change reflected the wider decline in print circulation, which for the paper averaged about 3,700 copies a day in 2023.
