Danville begins notice period before expanded River District parking enforcement

The City of Danville posted a transportation and access update on April 15, 2026 announcing an expansion of its two-hour timed parking enforcement footprint in the River District, with enforcement set to begin May 15.

The city says the expanded zone includes sections of Craghead, Bridge, Wilson, Newton, and Colquhoun streets, and that the current 30-day period is intended to notify businesses, workers, and visitors ahead of active ticketing.

For Danville commuters and downtown merchants, the move signals a near-term curb-management shift designed to increase turnover and access near core business corridors.

Officials said on-street signage and pre-enforcement reminders will continue during the lead-up period before full implementation.
