Danville extends Spring Street closure window for downtown parking deck construction

The City of Danville announced that Spring Street between Market Street and North Union Street closed to through traffic beginning April 29 to support construction of the Spring Street parking deck.

City guidance estimates the closure at approximately seven weeks, with drivers advised to use alternate downtown routes while work is active.

Officials framed the closure as part of a larger downtown access and infrastructure buildout tied to the new parking facility timeline.

For commuters and nearby businesses, the traffic shift remains an active operational issue through mid-spring and early summer construction phases.
