DANVILLE — City officials are asking drivers and families to take extra precautions as Halloween activities bring more children onto neighborhood streets Saturday evening.
The city advises trick-or-treaters to travel in groups, remain with adult supervision, carry a flashlight, stay out of strangers’ homes and have an adult inspect candy before it is eaten. Families should also check packaging for ingredient and allergy information.
Drivers should put electronic devices away, slow down and watch closely for children crossing streets. Pedestrians should use corners and marked crosswalks where available and look both ways before entering the roadway.
Danville’s Market Monster Mash is scheduled from 5 to 8 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 31, at the Community Market. The city lists trunk-or-treating, face painting, inflatables and other activities. Residents should consult the official city page for any same-day changes.
