Danville has turned an earlier workforce-safety training announcement into a completed credential for local professionals.
The Danville Office of Economic Development and Tourism says 28 professionals graduated from the OSHA 30 General Industry Safety and Health Training series, a four-part program hosted in partnership with GENEDGE. The city says the training covered worker protection, recordkeeping, electrical safety, machine guarding, hazard communication, bloodborne pathogens and heat stress.
Participants who completed all four training days received the OSHA 30-Hour General Industry completion card issued by the U.S. Department of Labor. For Danville employers, that matters because the credential gives supervisors, managers and front-line leaders a shared baseline for recognizing and controlling workplace hazards.
- What to know: The city describes this as a new training opportunity offered through the economic development office.
- Who is affected: Local manufacturers, hospitality employers, contractors, small businesses and workers whose roles include safety responsibilities.
- Why it matters: Workforce development is not only about filling jobs; safety training can reduce injuries, protect productivity and help businesses meet compliance expectations.
