The Pittsylvania County Planning Commission will hear 12 land-use cases at 7 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 4, in the Board Meeting Room at 39 Bank Street in Chatham.
The official notice lists seven rezoning requests, four special-use permit requests and one variance. Proposed uses include an antique store on Gap Road, an RV park tied to Milton Highway acreage, a catering office and commercial kitchen on Carter Drive, outdoor storage-building displays on West Gretna Road and expansion of a previously approved campground on Huntington Trail.
Other special-use requests cover a telecommunications tower on Kerr Lane and a community center on Cedar Ridge Road. The variance request would reduce a required 50-foot rear setback to 20 feet for a roughly 0.31-acre US 29 property.
The commission will solicit comments supporting or opposing the cases. The notice describes applications and requested uses, not approvals. The county says application files may be reviewed at the Community Development Office, 53 North Main Street in Chatham, from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. weekdays.
