GTCC aviation tour gives Triad students a closer look at aerospace careers

Guilford Technical Community College will host a public aviation-program tour on Aug. 20, 2026, giving prospective students and career changers a closer look at training tied to the Triad's expanding aerospace manufacturing pipeline.

The tour includes GTCC's Aviation Systems Technology site, aviation management and career-pilot programs, and its aviation manufacturing pathway. The college says attendees can meet program directors, ask about career opportunities and see how the programs connect to the region's broader aviation economy.

That workforce connection is becoming more consequential in Guilford County. GTCC says it is developing a new 70,000-square-foot aviation facility expected to expand student capacity by 40%, with a larger composites lab aligned to the competencies needed by emerging aerospace employers, including JetZero's planned Greensboro manufacturing campus.

The Aug. 20 tour is scheduled for 5-6 p.m. and registration is available through GTCC's event page. Students, parents and adults exploring a career change should reserve a spot and ask about admissions, program length, financial aid and the specific credentials connected to each pathway.
